Based in Kansas City, Charlie Mylie is a children’s book author-illustrator known for his playful, heartfelt illustrations and engaging stories. His work includes numerous titles he has illustrated as well as books he has both written and illustrated. In 2025, his book Treehouse Town earned a Kansas Notable Book Award for illustration.

Laurie L. Dove

KAD 2026 Feature Author

Laurie L. Dove is an award-winning journalist and the Instant USA Today bestselling author of MASK OF THE DEER WOMAN, which The New York Times called a “best new release.” The second book in the series arrives in September. Dove is currently writing her third and fourth novels. **Please note: We recently learned Laurie has been nominated for a prestigious writers’ award, creating a scheduling conflict with our event.
