Charlie Mylie

Based in Kansas City, Charlie Mylie is a children’s book author-illustrator known for his playful, heartfelt illustrations and engaging stories. His work includes numerous titles he has illustrated as well as books he has both written and illustrated. In 2025, his book Treehouse Town earned a Kansas Notable Book Award for illustration.

Laurie Dove

Laurie L. Dove is an award-winning journalist and the Instant USA Today bestselling author of MASK OF THE DEER WOMAN, which The New York Times called a “best new release.” The second book in the series arrives in September. Dove is currently writing her third and fourth novels. 

**Please note: We recently learned Laurie has been nominated for a prestigious writers’ award, creating a scheduling conflict with our event. While she won’t be able to attend in person, she will record a video message to share with us. We wish her the best of luck!

Jillian Forsberg

Jillian Forsberg, author of The Rhino Keeper and The Porcelain Menagerie, writes immersive historical fiction inspired by art, animals, and lost stories. A Kansas Notable Book Award winner, she’s spoken at zoos, museums, and literary events, inviting audiences into the hidden corners of history.
